What is a Mandala?

Mandala in Sanskrit means "circle" and the definition is: Any of various geometric designs(usually circular) Symbolizing the universe, used chiefly in Hinduism and Buddhism as an aid to meditation. It helps the meditator envision how to achieve the perfect self.

A Mandala is also a symbol of the universe in its ideal form and it's creation signifies the transformation of a universe of suffering into one of joy.

I went round and round for what seemed like forever when I was choosing the name of my studio. I wanted something unique, and that was memorable and catchy but that also described the feeling that I am looking to invoke with each and every one of a kind piece of artwork I do. Then of course, I tried to narrow it down to one word...I knew it had to begin with a D as with the recent passing of both my Brother, Deryck and 4 years earlier my Dad, Doug also passing away, the letter D has come to hold a very special place in my heart in the last few years. Horrible with decision making myself, I soon decided that one D word just was not going to cut it and so I decided 3 was the magic number and it worked, D3 Dotting Co was born! I strive to do my best to ensure that every unique piece of art I create brings one if not all 3 of these words to mind! Welcome, to D3 Dotting Co!!
